Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today, so according to the legend, the U.S. will experience 6 more weeks of Winter. Let's hope that doesn't include any more ice storms! Speaking of Groundhog Day, a great movie bearing that title released in 1993. It was about a reporter, played by Bill Murray, who keeps living the same day over and over again. After the day had reoccurred several times, Murray starts looking at his life, this particular day, in a whole different perspective. He changes tires for some elderly women, he buys lunch for a homeless guy, and schedules to be in a certain spot to catch a young boy falling from a tree among many other deeds, which caused me to wonder...What would I do differently if I had the chance to live today over again?
Paul, in his letter to the believers in Ephesus, explains how a Christ follower should generally live. "Be imitators of God"..."find out what pleases the Lord" and "make the most of every opportunity" are just a few of his instructions. How would the day look if we asked ourselves how we could best imitate God in any given situation?
